Review: PREGNANCY TESTS FOR THOSE POAS ADDICTS

Hi everyone!

So I know how many of you love POAS because I used to be one of them (and occasionally still am - blush) I wanted to do a review on some of the pregnancy tests I used and what I thought of them, what gave me the earliest results and how easy they were to use/read. Let me know your thoughts ladies! Here goes...

Number 1: First Response tests

This was probably quite an obvious choice for my number 1 - They are admittedly super sensitive (which is perfect for us POAS addicts). The First Response test detected my first pregnancy (which I sadly lost) and this pregnancy very early and gave me really faint lines at first which then clearly progressed as the days went on. It's so much easier to see faint lines on pink dye tests which is also a plus point about the First Response tests.

Ease of use/Ease to read: Very easy to interpret (even with really faint lines) Pink dye tests are much easier to spot lines when your testing early. Easy to use... you just pee on it!

How early did you get a positive result: I got my positive at 8dpo (albeit extremely faint) It then clearly progressed over the next few days.

Any cons: The only con I have with the First Response test is that on months where I wasn't pregnant I did get a lot of evap lines which I obsessed over for days!

Number 2: Internet Cheapies (believe it or not!)

I was quite impressed with the internet cheapies I used (I think they were called Wondfo or One Step or something) they were bought off Amazon. They are brilliant if you are a POAS addict and use a few tests a day... like me! I have to say they didn't detect my pregnancy that early and didn't get dark that quickly like the First Response did, but when I tested they showed a definite positive on about 10dpo.

Ease of use/Ease to read: Quite easy to read but don't seem to get dark that quickly. Easy to use but normally need to dip in urine rather than in your urine stream, which can be annoying when out and about.

How early did you get a positive result: I got my positive with the Internet Cheapies at about 10dpo, which I know is still quite early but for some of us it needs to be sooner!

Any cons: Doesn't show a positive result as early. Doesn't seem to get as dark as quickly as you thought it would do in comparison with the First Response tests.

Number 3: Clearblue Digital

So the Clearblue Digital... mixed reviews about these. I like them, but for only when your a bit further along. They didn't detect my pregnancy until after a missed period and this caused a lot of worry (I know that you are told not to test until after you have missed a period but we all know that is impossible!) When I did test positive it came up with Pregnant 1-2 weeks which was nice to know how far along I was.

Ease of use/Ease to read: Easy to interpret results, you just read what it says on the screen. Easy to use as you just put it in your stream of pee!

How early did you get a positive result: I didn't get a positive for a little while after I had on other tests so this caused a lot of anxiety. They do seem to work well after you've missed your period or a few days after.

Any cons: These can be quite expensive and are not as sensitive as the other tests.

I hope that I have helped you a little when choosing your pregnancy tests!
